Ground Hog Day

Every day about 6:15 on the dot, Hayes and I settle in upstairs in the playroom for our morning bottle and coffee. Can you see them on the little table beside my chair? This is our morning routine seven days a week. Tim is usually in the garage on the eliptical machine getting ready to shower and leave for work. Addie is still snoozing in her bed. We finish our "breakfast" and then head straight for a bath for the little man...every morning. The bath is followed by lots of vaseline and lotion to help with his itching and then some oatmeal and bananas downstairs while watching Dora. By this time, Addie has joined us for a pop-tart and an ice water. She is usually so happy to see her brother in the morning. This is how we start our day, every day.

Yes, it does seem like my days repeat themselves over and over again. And yes, you can pretty much figure out what I am doing each and every hour of the day since I do the same things every day at the same time. However, I wouldn't change a thing because I know that in the not too far off future, I won't have this time with my little ones. I won't be able to enjoy a nice cup of coffee with my little mama's boy on my lap drinking a bottle. Every once in a while he looks up at me, smiles, gets a little side-tracked and milk pours out all over his little chin and neck. This also happens every morning. It happens to be one of my favorite times of the day. Not too far from now, we will be rushing around to get dressed and ready for school. I will be taking them to be cared for by someone else so that I can finally get my career going again. And my morning coffee will not be coupled with some little boy lovin' and melt-your-heart smiles. So...Ground Hog Day is just fine for me...as long as it wants to stick around.

4th of July

My pictures are posted all out of order, but I decided to just go with it since it is taking me forever to upload them all. We finally ended our busy day at Dave's church down the road for some play time and fireworks.

Hayes fell sleep before the big show and slept through the entire thing. The wagon makes a great little bed for him.

They both were fast asleep before we pulled in the driveway.

Earlier that day, we enjoyed some swing-time and a cookout at home with Mamaw and Grandpa Dave.

A great time was had by all! Addie wouldn't take her eyes off of the fireworks. She was amazed. I'm glad we decided to go. Thanks Grandpa Dave for inviting us!

Gearing up for Fireworks~

We don't need a nap. We only need some playtime in the tub and lots and lots of snacks.

They were both very excited about skipping naptime and heading to the church to watch the fireworks. Are they not cute or what?

Bath time...

After the beach, we headed straight for the bath.

This was their first time bathing together. Hayes only recently started having his bath in the "big tub". They loved it! Hayes splashed all around and Addie made funny faces to get him giggling out loud. I sat beside the tub and watched and by the end of the bath, I too was soaking wet! They really are good company for each other. I am just so blessed!

Beach days are very tiring...

They both passed out in the car before we even got on the interstate.

And this is what it looks like to fall asleep mid-slurpee...

The sand and sun are rough on a little girl! Next up...bath time!

Beach Day - Part 1 of our Fourth of July Celebrations

Saturday was Tim's only day off this week, since he is working the holiday to make a little extra money. We decided to go all out and really have some fun together! First activity of the day was a trip to the beach. It was Hayes' first time seeing the sand and water. The weather was beautiful and the water was perfect! I was so thankful to have a camera that day!

Hayes is definitely our little water baby. He loves to splash around and feel the water on his face. We were just happy to see Addie not freak out when the sand got on her feet this time. In the past, we never made it past the boardwalk. She does not like to get sandy! She did spend a little time at the water's edge this trip and even went as far as to hold her Daddy's hand and wade out into the water a few times. Mostly, she enjoyed sitting on the blanket in the shade eating her picnic lunch and watching her Daddy and Hayes. It was a nice trip, despite all of the work it takes to get two little ones packed up, lathered up, diapered up, and happy to have sand and salt water all over their little bodies. It was definitely a day to remember.

Happy 4th of July!

We got a new camera, and we took a lot of pictures yesterday! Stay tuned!
