Just a few pictures...

We've been doing a lot of growin' around here. Hayes can almost sit up by himself! Finally!

He still prefers to just lay back though. He is so funny! He does however, have quite the temper. My mom thinks I may have another rotten one on my hands, and Dave thinks he may be even more of a stinker than Addie- YIKES!

You can't get more rotten than this one! Isn't she just the cutest little thing? And then she doesn't get her way, or you tell her take a bath, or eat her dinner before she can get icecream....then she is not such a cutie anymore!

But...until then, she is cute. In these pictures, she is just cute. No fuss, no tears, no stomping down the hall....just cuteness...

and one very big, cheesy smile!

She loves her brother like nothing else though. He flashes a big ole' grin when she walks into the room. Sometimes she is the only person who can get him to stop crying. She thinks that is pretty cool.

I think it's pretty cool too.

Happy Memorial Day everyone! I hope lots of family time is happening at your place!

Strawberry Time!

Addie and I made it out to a local strawberry patch a couple of weeks ago. She enjoyed the strawberries much more this time around. I can remember thinking she was allergic to strawberries this time last year, so I was much more relaxed for this trip since we know that is not the case. Grandpa Dave and Mamaw met us out there and we picked strawberries for over an hour. Too bad she doesn't really like the taste of them. Luckily, her Daddy and I do!

Hangin' Out

We have been very busy here getting ready for summer and all that goes along with it. It's just now starting to get really warm here. We were able to play in Addie's baby pool the other day, and Hayes absolutely loved it. He loved splashing the water, and unlike his big sister, didn't mind one bit when he splashed himself in the face! I think he is going to enjoy summertime!

Hayes is really starting to shine. His personality is in full gear, and he is definitely a little momma's boy! He also really lights up when Addie pays him some attention. She is really good at getting him to giggle out loud. The first thing she asks about when she wakes up is him, and off she goes...down the hallway to find her "little buddy". I love watching them together.
Addie is definitely challenging me a lot here lately. Her little attitude flip flops like nothing I have ever seen. One minutes she is sweet and adorable and trying to be my little helper, and the very next minute, she is mocking me and doing the exact opposite of what I ask her. My patience has really been tested these last few weeks. I am trying very hard to work on how I handle those situations. I don't want my children to remember their momma as a yeller and screamer. However, I do want them to learn to behave and listen to what they are told. When someone figures out how to do this without raising your voice, will you let me know? Until then, I'll just keep working on it....

Just Because

This little guy makes me smile, so I thought I would share a little of him with you!

Around here...

We like to wear more than one pair of "big-girl pants" when we get the chance.

And it's okay if it takes a little more time to get them all off before we can use the "big-girl pot".

We're getting there. Almost done...

Man, we are so proud! How many pairs of "big-girl pants" do you like to wear?

The other day when I went to get Addie out of bed after her supposed nap...this was how I found her. She had taken the liberty to remove her pee-filled diaper and replace it with not one, but eight pair of new "big-girl pants". This girl is getting more and more hilarious every day.

Somewhere....

among all the craziness, and crying babies, and lists of things to get done and people to take care of...

...there is a pasture in Ocala, Florida that has all the peace and tranquility that the world has to offer. When things get busy here, and I feel my self starting to get overwhelmed, I think of this pasture.

More Florida Fun...

Hayes got some cuddle time in with Papaw Rick and Grandma Julie. He just loves to be held, and if you give him a bottle, he'll love you forever!
He loved the big King-size bed that we had at the hotel on the trip home.
Addie loved the heart-shaped jacuzzi that was in our room....right in the middle of the room with mirrors all around it! Teee Hee!

She enjoyed the toys Grandma Julie had put away for her. These were some of her favorites when she was down visiting the first time. I'm guessing she still likes them.
She was worn slam out after our birthday party at the pool. We didn't get much napping done down there except for while we were in the car on the way to some place or other.
This is my sweet Memaw, and of course, Hayes took to her quite easily. She's a natural mother...you know...one of those people who just has a gentleness about them that children sense right away. Addie even slept in the room with Memaw a couple of nights.

Addie loved her little bumblebee dress from Memaw, and boy does she love to ham it up for the camera!
I really wish we all lived just a little closer to one another. I enjoy our visits so much and we don't get the chance to do it often enough.

Swim time with Daddy...

While in Florida with my family, we attended the birthday party of my cousin, Chris's, daughter, which happened to be at a pool. It was a HOT day, but the shade of the pavilion and the cool pool water were very refreshing...atleast that is what Tim and Addie said! Hayes stayed cool by licking Grandma Julie's cup of cold ice tea. It was hiliarious! He couldn't get enough of it...silly boy!

Once Addie warmed up to the idea of the swimming pool, she really had a great time. She is always a little hesitant at first when it comes to the water. The hot weather and the splashing and shrills of the other kids seemed to help persuade her to give it a try. I'm so glad she did. She had a blast!

Daddy had fun too! I forgot my bathing suit...on accident of course, so I watched from the shade and snapped some pictures.

I can't get enough of this smile! She is rotten, rotten, rotten...and I love her so much!

Happy Birthday to Lauren!
