I am pretty sure that my weeks here at home are flying by so fast! I can hardly believe I have already missed two school years of teaching, and that my little newborn baby is almost 2 years old here in a few months! Can it all just slow down a little bit please? I want to make sure I catch every second of it all...
Here is another cute one of Addie and my Dad down in Florida. She was in a good mood that night, cuddling with us on the couch.
This past weekend, I had some close girlfriends come down to see me again. This time, it was without babies! Tim watched Addie and Shanna's little boy, Grayson, while the girls headed out for some Mexican! Of course, he got a little help from my mom and Dave. He was such a trooper to say "yes" to all of that. Am I lucky or what?
We had such a good time laughing and catching up! I lived on the sorority hall with all of these girls at one time or another and actually roomed with three of them in a triple suite on the Delta Zeta hall. I can remember many days/nights with these incredible ladies just hanging out in the Chapter room or even getting ready for parties and sorority functions. We have definitely had some great times together, and I am proud that we have managed to make time for one another still.....9 years or so later, with babies, and husbands, and boyfriends, and new houses, and jobs and all!

Can I help?
As you all know, Addie loves being outside, so the beautiful Florida weather was right up her alley. She enjoyed helping my Dad and Julie with this flower bed. Although, I am pretty sure she was more trouble than help as mulch went flying out into the grass! Grandma Julie even let Addie work with some gardening tools! WOW! She liked that, and now expects for me to let her use my "tools"...like toilet wands and feather dusters! Thanks Grandma Julie!

More Florida fun...
Addie is fascinated with horses right now. It was really the first time she was around live horses, but obviously it has made a huge impression on her. She knows I have pictures of Jo Jo and Jack on my computer, so whenever I sit down to check email or write a paper, she wants me to show her "Jo Jo". Its really very cute!
My Dad gave Addie one of his old cell phones to "use", and she loves it! She walked around with that thing the whole time we were there, and now I have to keep it in my diaper bag because she asks for it whenever I go to use my own phone.
She was very stylish in the Florida sun with her new sunglasses from Mamaw...thanks! Plus, Grandma Julie made sure she wasn't hurting for any new toys or entertainment while we were there. She has one of these push toys here at home, but doesn't pay it any attention at all. She loved pushing that thing up and down the driveway in the sunshine!

Addie goes to ChuckECheese!
Friday night my Dad and Julie took us to ChuckECheese to meet my cousin, Christopher and his cute little family for some fun! At first Addie was a little apprehensive about the little rides and games she had never seen before, but she soon warmed up and was all over that place. She was quite content until ChuckECheese himself tried to say "hello"...and that was not something she was ready for at all! She disliked him almost as much as she does poor Santa! She did start warming up to my Dad by the end of the evening and followed "popaw" around dropping tokens into the games and picking up coin cups she found on the floor! It was a fun night for all!

Goodbye rainy Virginia, Hello sunny Florida!
This past Friday Addie took her very first plane ride down to Ocala, Florida to visit her Grandpa Rick and Grandma Julie. She didn't seem to mind the flight one bit and rather enjoyed the extra attention she got from everyone around her, not to mention all the coloring time with Mommy!
This was Addie's first visit to a horse farm too! My Dad and Julie have a beautiful home in Ocala that they share with lots of furry friends.
This is a picture of the barn. Addie just loved visiting down by the barn!

Over the next couple of posts, I am going to share some of my favorite pictures from our adventures down south. I will also get a chance to introduce several of Addie's new "friends" she got to meet while staying with her Grandpa Rick and Grandma Julie. Addie was such a little trooper through it all, and she really had the best time. This morning, after a looooong night of traveling, I woke up to her little voice babbling in her crib, saying "jo jo...jaaaaack....jo jo....jaaaaaack....jo jo.....jaaaack". These are the names of my Dad and Julie's horses. They sure left an impression on little Addie! It was so adorable. I have plenty of stories to share...

Bad Blogger...
I can't believe it has been almost a week since I posted. I guess I am really starting to slack off here. The problem is with my camera. I can't seem to figure out how to upload pictures to the same folder each time. So, each time I upload pictures....let's say 5 at a time from the park, or from the snow day, it creates a whole new folder. I have been trying to save up pictures, so that I am not creating folders with less than 5 pictures in them. Can you tell I am not that good with computers? I can't believe I ever figured out the whole blogging thing to begin with...
Addie and I are getting ready for a big trip to visit Grandpa Rick (my Dad) and Grandma Julie in Florida this weekend. It will be Addie's first time on an airplane. I can tell you that I have already had two dreams, or what you would call vivid nightmares, about this little adventure. I have no doubt that she will do just fine down there and will love the attention from everyone and all of the fun animals they have, but it is the actual 3 hours in air that worry me just a tad! Hopefully, she will do great, and I will have lots to boast about when we return. The picture above was taken right around the time my Dad and Julie last saw her....August of last summer. She has changed so much and really has so much more of a personality. I am very excited for them to get to spend some time with her. So, this week I am preparing for our trip as well as trying to get some work done for my class I am taking right now! Busy, busy, busy.....

Addie's First Snow!
Monday we had a dusting of snow here finally after several years of not having even some flurries! Everyone around here was very excited...even if it did barely cover the grass. I was anxious to get Addie up and see what she thought of the white stuff. Needlesstosay, after battling over the wardrobe for over half an hour (she hates layers and refused to let me put the boots and gloves on at first), we finally made it outside! Doesn't she look thrilled?
I remembered this little infant sled that she got from her cousins and I decided to give that a shot! She loved it! It was, however, tiring for me, running back and forth over the wet, front yard as she yelled "moe", meaning "more" in her language.
Because it had rained the three days before our "snow", the ground was nice and muddy and wet. Addie only had to fall one time and get soaked before she was cold and miserable and just plain uncomfortable. She still managed to throw a gigantic temper tantrum though when I took her inside, pointing at the sled at the bottom of the porch steps saying "Riiiiide"! Next time we get some snow, I'm going to see if Tim will take the day off and play with her outside! It was a lot of fun to watch her experience it for the first time, and I am just so thankful I was able to do it.
